Movie Night – Hans Nordenström
The second edition of Saskia Neuman Gallery's Movie Night with a special screening of three films by the acclaimed visionary architect, artist and experimental filmmaker Hans Nordenström, in collaboration with Filmform, The Art Film & Video Archive, Stockholm, Sweden.
A testament to both his profession and the time in which he was active, Hans Nordenström, a well established architect, contributed to the Swedish cultural landscape as a writer and artist in several issues of the publication Blandaren. In addition to his work as a writer Hans Nordenström made several acclaimed experimental films with his friends and colleagues, including famed Swedish curator/Director of Moderna Museet Pontus Hultén and the Swedish/German author, dramaturge and avantgarde filmmaker Peter Weiss.
In celebration of Kasper Nordenström's exhibition,* Spegeldansen — Mirror Dance*, the gallery screened three of the artists' grandfather, Hans Nordenström, heralded films: Mannen som flög, 1960 — 3 min, En dag i staden, 1956, by Pontus Hultén & Hans Nordenström — 19 min, and Enligt lag, by Peter Weiss & Hans Nordenström, 1957, 20 min. The screening is in collaboration with Filmform, The Art Film & Video Archive, Stockholm, Sweden.
