The presentation at Market Art Fair 2025 introduces the artist Niklas Delin's (b.1989) work in a suite of new paintings, exploring the characteristics of painting in relation to light, found in both exterior and interior environments, as well as glancing towards art historical references. Initiated almost entirely on a dark foundation, lighter shades of colour carefully seep through the surface in all of Delin's work. The paintings are delicate. The darkness transforms as it moves through constant motion towards the light, creating shapes and forms recognisable to the human eye. The image emerges through the cracks – a story of impression, loneliness and melancholy. It is a constellation of images where technique and time takes part of the investigation of the subconscious. Niklas Delin’s first ever solo exhibition was presented at the gallery in September 2023, with the title At Each Island.
